Antipodes was kind enough to send me this lip balm to try and review. I am so glad they did! As I've mentioned time and time again, I love lip balms!
Claim: A creamy, moisturizing and organic lip balm which features olive oil, cocoa butter and lime to condition your lips and shine your smile! Perfect for everyday application.
I will say, I dislike the smell and taste. It's definitely cocoa butter with a hint of lime which almost tastes like dish soap (no, I have not tried dish soap!). That's what it tastes like to me. I'm not a fan of cocoa butter scents in general though, so perhaps that's why I don't enjoy the scent. Aside from that, I adore it and it is truly a pleasure to use. It is SOOOOOOO creamy and moisturizing. I spent the day playing frisbee with my boyfriend, a few weeks ago, and my lips got so chapped from the sun. I was too lazy to reapply my Hurraw! SPF balm (serves me right). This totally brought them back to life overnight. I use this whenever my lips feel dry and right before bed. I am in love with it. The packaging is pretty basic, I would love to see it look as good as their skin care packaging. I will definitely purchase this whenever I use this tube all up. It's a definite must have for me now.
Retails for approx. $7.00 CAN. Check out www.antipodesnature.us for more info. Can be found at Whole Foods, www.hipapotheca.com, and www.spaboutique.ca.

LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant Review
This is the yummiest smelling line of natural deodorants that I have ever encountered, seriously, didn't think delicious deodorants existed (unless they were chemically/synthetically scented). That's about all I enjoyed about it though. I purchased the Vanilla Passion Fruit scent.
Claim: A clinical-strength deodorant that is 100 percent natural, safe, and effective. LAVANILA The Healthy Deodorant uses beta-glucan technology to effectively fight odor while soothing, conditioning, and strengthening the skin. It goes on clean, with no sticky wetness, and delivers long-lasting, luxurious results. Containt no parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petro-chemicals, phthalates, aluminum or mineral oils.
It definitely soothes and conditions, it feels wet going on actually which I didn't like. It quickly dried to a powder like finish. It doesn't go on clean, it leaves a white film which is easily transferable to clothing which is another con for me. I LOVEEEED the scent but it wasn't very effective in keeping me smelling delicious all day and I felt and actually was sweaty after about 30 minutes of wearing this. The packaging is beautiful but it's really big (hard to keep in my purse because of the size). It rolls up and down like any other deodorant. For $23, I expected so much more. I ended up returning this to Sephora and will not be repurchasing.
Retails for $23 CAN and can only be purchased at Sephora. Check out www.lavanila.com/ for more info.
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Juice, Water), Propanediol (Corn Derived), Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Sodium Stearate (Coconut Derived), Silica, Carrageenan (Seaweed Derived), Stearyl Behenate (Coconut Derived), Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon Peel Oil), Inulin (Artichoke Derived), Saccharomyces Ferment, Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide (Sugar Derived), Yeast Beta Glucan, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Valeriana Officinalis Root Extract (Valerian), Hydrastis Canadensis (Goldenseal) Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract (Goji Berry), Botanical Fragrance Blend.

Andalou Naturals Lavender & Biotin Shampoo Review
So...remember when I said I was not going to use shampoo and just wash my hair with baking soda? I lied changed my mind. Great for my scalp, not so great for my chemically treated hair. I saw this shampoo on sale at Whole Foods and decided that it would be a great mix in with my John Masters Lavender Rosemary Shampoo.
Claim: Andalou Naturals Advanced Fruit Stem Cell Science improves hair follicle longevity and vitality for healthy hair from root to tip. Lavender gently refreshes, stimulating follicles and circulation. Biotin B-complex infuses essential protein for thicker, fuller strands, improved strength, texture and manageability for maximum volume and silky sheen. 100% Sulfate Free and Color Safe
I don't know about the "Fruit Stem Cell Science" but I like this shampoo. It mixes in really well on my hand with the John Masters one and because they smell similar, it works. I love the lather and how well it rinses out. It leaves my hair and scalp feeling really clean and refreshed. I do see a little bit more volume in my hair, but that's probably all in my head. It's clear and has a gel-like consistency. I thought this would be great to use for summer because my scalp and hair get more greasy and I could always use more volume. As you can see, I've used up about half of it. I would repurchase next summer but I think I'm going to try their Sweet Orange and Argan Shampoo next. This is definitely worth checking if your hair is oily or fine/thin, I think you'll like it.
Retails for approx. $9.99 CAN. Check out http://andalou.com/ for more info.

Dr. Mist Spray Deodorant Review
Most know the difference between antiperspirants and deodorants, but just in case you don't, let me quickly tell you. Antiperspirant keeps you from sweating and deodorant keeps you from smelling. Short and sweet! I hate sweating but I don't really find that antiperspirants such as Dove, Secret, and so on, really help me in that field anyway. Changing to just a deodorant was a no brainer for me for that reason as well as all the negative we hear about aluminum. That being said, natural deodorants don't smell half as good as chemical filled ones except LAVANILLA (which I'll review next).
Now...Dr. Mist...
Claim: Completely and naturally eliminates surface bacteria that causes body odor. Eliminates body odor for up to 3 days even when bathing is not possible (includes underarm and feet). Removes odors from socks, shoes, clothing, gym equipment and anything bacteria related. Can be used on even the most sensitive skin. Treats acne with visible results in 24 hours. Accelerates healing in open wounds and takes the sting out of mosquito/insect bites. Dr. mist spray has NO Aluminum, NO Fragrance, NO Artificial Colorings, NO Creams, NO Oils, NO Alcohol AND is STAIN FREE. It embraces an environmental-friendly and hygienic concept.
While it has several uses, according to the above claim, I've only used it under my arms. It does not kill odor for up to 3 days! I mean, maybe it does for those that don't sweat or smell to begin with but I need to apply it every morning. The other thing that I don't enjoy is that it takes a couple of minutes to dry. Aside from that, I really love this stuff. It keeps me dry and stink free for most of the day. There's no smell to it, so instead of masking the scent of my BO with some sort of fragrance that usually causes me to smell worse, I just smell like nothing. It doesn't irritate my skin or stain my clothes at all. I like the spray bottle that it comes in and it's light which is great for travel. I was completely skeptical at first and can't believe how much I enjoy this and how well it works for me. I have two bottles right now, one as a back up, so it's safe to say that I will repurchase.
Retails for approx. $8.50 CAN for 50ml. I purchased mine at Whole Foods and I know www.well.ca carries too. Check out http://www.drmist.us/ for more info.
Ingredients: Calcium, Sodium Chloride, Magnesium, treated Water (with floatation technology).
EOS Lip Balm in Sweet Mint Review
I caved into the YouTube craze of EOS lip balms and purchased Sweet Mint months ago. By now, if you follow me, you'll know I'm a lip balm fanatic so it only made sense I'd try this out.
Claim: EOS lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth. Long-lasting moisture, shea butter & vitamin E, smoothes on clear, smooth sphere precisely glides on to lips, twist-off top, gluten-free, paraben-free, petrolatum-free, phthalate-free, not tested on animals.
It's a neat little sphere that looks pretty cool, I actually enjoy the packaging. However, the packaging is a bit of a con to me as well. I'm not able to easily fit this in a small clutch/wristlet. I loved the texture/formula for about two weeks, then I just didn't care for it anymore. It didn't make my lips any softer and it's just too waxy for my liking. I want my lip balm to be buttery and easily glide across my lips. I don't want to have to work it on my lips until it warms up and melts because the skin on your lips is quite thin. As it wore down, it got softer...weird? I thought so too. I dunno, I won't repurchase this. I love the scent and taste of it, it's definitely a sweet mint flavour which is totally enjoyable but it's just not the best of lip balms.
Retails for approx. $3.99 CAN and can be purchased just about anywhere now, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall/Pharma Plus, Well.ca, Walmart, and so on.
Ingredients: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D’abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol, Limonene1, Linalool1. 1Component of Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*. *Organic. Dr. Bronner's Organic Liquid Soap Review
Dr. Bronner is organic, fair trade and has interesting stuff to read on their packaging. About a year ago, I tried their tea tree liquid soap as a body wash, which is when I discovered that tea tree irritates my life. Since then, I have tried two other scents.
Claim: Unlike any you’ve ever used. A combination of organic extra virgin coconut, olive, jojoba and hemp oils, together with pure essential oils, creates a unique soap that cleans effectively without being aggressive and produces a velvety-lather that leaves the skin silky-smooth and refreshed.
This product has so many uses it's crazy. You can use it as a body wash, face wash, shampoo, bath soak, cleaning agent, etc. I have used a couple of drops, in the past, in my shampoo and body wash and enjoyed it. I currently use it for my feet, to give them an extra fresh scent in this summer heat, and to clean my shower. It lathers really well, is moisturizing and very fragrant. It actually cleans surprisingly well and contains no harsh chemicals which is a bonus. I purchased mini bottles of the peppermint and citrus scents, they have lasted me like 4 or 5 months now and they're not even empty yet! You literally only need a few drops. I love this stuff and will continue to purchase it. I haven't decided which scent I prefer but the larger bottles are way cheaper when you work out size for dollar. All bottles are plastic and does not contain a dropper.
They come in a variety of scents such as citrus, peppermint, tea tree, unscented, almond, eucalyptus, rose, and lavender. They also come in the following sizes: 59ml, 236ml, 472ml and 946ml.
Retails from approx. $3.99 - $19.99 CAN and can be purchased at any local health food store. Check out http://www.drbronner.com/ for more info.

DeVita High Performance Glycolic Acid Blend Review
I'm on a DeVita roll! I actually only have three of this company's products right now and this is the lastest and last one for now. I love glycolic, lactic and alpha hydroxy (AHA) acids. They actually help my skin, unlike salicylic acid (and tea tree) which just irritate it. I was on the hunt for a glycolic acid serum and stumbled upon this at Big Carrot while looking for their sunscreen.
Claim: From Caterpillar to Butterfly... Reveal your inner beauty with our natural Glycolic Acid Blend formula. Glycolic acids have long been shown as the best anti aging results to promote rapid change in rough, listless skin by encouraging the rate of cellular turnover which can bring the appearance of smoother, younger looking skin, reduced pore size, and gives a blushed, healthy glow. Assists in minimizing break-outs, and milia, reduces the appearance of fine lines, deeper wrinkles and darkened areas on the face. Our exclusive formula uses the latest in gel technology featuring our all-natural source of fruit acid blend imported from Italy. So be beautiful, butterfly!
DeVita skin care products are 100 percent Vegan and Paraben Free. They are considered Gluten Sensitive Safe and never contain GMO's. DeVita products are never tested on animals (only humans!).
It's true, glycolic acid (or any acid) speeds up cell renewal to promote smoother and younger skin while reducing wrinkles and pore size. Pore size cannot be changed, however, it can temporarily appear smaller. I truly enjoy this product as well, it's another winner and holy grail item for me from DeVita. It helps slough off dead skin cells, reduce the appearance of wrinkles (not that I have many yet, but they appear less obvious or my skin looks plumper lol), reduce acne and just leave my skin feeling and looking radiant and soft. I love the pump on it, I'm a fan of pumps, but hate the cap. The cap doesn't stay on which means it'll come off when I travel. It comes in a dark glass bottle, glass sucks for traveling, but acids should be in glass jars (not that this one is ridiculously potent).
1 - 2 pumps is all you need for your face and neck, probably 1 more pump for your chest. It tingles a bit when I first put it on, which I actually like because it makes me feel that it's working. I used it for 10 days straight and now use it only a couple of times a week for maintenance. When you get glycolic creams, serums, peels, etc, you're asked to build tolerance to the acid first. This means, you start off with a low percentage and build your way up until your skin can handle stronger percentages of acid. I highly recommend this product and will be repurchasing. It's still pretty full though, so I can't imagine I'll be repurchasing soon (which is awesome).
I can't remember how much it was exactly so I'll say between $40 and $50 CAN for 50ml. Check out www.devitaskincare.com for more information. Can be purchased at The Big Carrot www.thebigcarrot.ca.

DeVita Solar Body Block SPF 30+ Review
I recently reviewed the DeVita Solar Protective Moisturizer SPF 30 which is for my face and I love it. My boyfriend was smart enough to remember that I wanted this specific sunscreen and smart enough to buy it for me for my birthday. I trained him well! lol I'm kidding, he's just a good guy in general. I've had the opportunity to try it out for a couple of weeks and must say that I really love it.
Claim: Rich, effective body moisturizer and sun screen all in one! Absorbs quickly and is not oily or greasy. Offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB sun protection with a USFDA Monograph Sun Protection Factor Determination test level of 32. NO NANO TECHNOLOGY! (average particle size is 240 nm)
100% natural, absorbs quickly and is never oily or greasy. Offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB sun protection with a USFDA Monograph Sun Protection Factor Determination test level of 32. This is a gentle, soothing physical sun block that is skin-friendly and suitable for sensitive skin. Penetrates deep into your skin giving it back the look and feel of it's elasticity after just a few applications. Revitalizes, softens and moisturizes skin leaving it with a satin sheen. DeVita skin care products are 100 percent Vegan and Paraben Free. They are considered Gluten Sensitive Safe and never contain GMO's. DeVita products are never tested on animals (only humans!).
I'm going to start off with the bad, it's expensive. Now I can get into why I love it. It's definitely hydrating without feeling greasy on my skin. It has a very light sunscreen scent that is not overwhelming or annoying. It rubs so nicely into the skin without effort and keeps me from getting burnt, or further burnt. I used it at the cottage last week and was kind of burnt on my arms already, it didn't get worse over the weekend. I use it daily on my arms and decollete areas since those are my most exposed on a daily bases. I really enjoying using it, it's a great sunscreen. We'll see what happens when I go on vacation, which won't be until the new year but still. I would repurchase for sure.
Retails for approx. $35 for 210ml. Check out www.devitaskincare.com for more information. Can be purchased at The Big Carrot www.bigcarrot.ca.

John Masters Organics - Deep Scalp Follicle Treatment & Volumizer for Thinning Hair Review
I don't know if all women (and men) are obsessed with thinking their hair is thinning or wanting it to grow faster and thicker but I sure am! I read some AMAZING reviews on this product that influenced by decision to try it out. My hair is naturally fine and doesn't grow as fast as I'd like, I was hoping this would be a holy grail miracle product. My boyfriend also bought it, his hair is not thinning but he thinks it is. Men...
Claim: A unique combination of 19 certified-organic herbs and essential oils improve the scalp by promoting nutrient intake, stimulating circulation, balancing sebum production and eliminating free radicals. Select ingredients work to enhance hair volume and shine. Safe for color-treated hair. 2 fl oz.
• thyme - scalp stimulant; antiseptic
• irish moss - natural detoxifier
• arnica - healing to the scalp; anti-inflammatory
• che qian zi - reduces inflammation
• gotu kola - anti-inflammatory; anti-irritant
Lets start with the good...it smells nice (herbal), it has a spray bottle, you don't need that much, lasted me over 4 months (and I'm still not done), does add volume (for a couple of hours) and it's John Masters (which automatically should make it a great product).
The bad...it's expensive, did not help my scalp in any way, did not make my hair grow thicker, fuller or longer and I think it's a waste of money. My boyfriend did not see a difference either in his own hair and we both will not be repurchasing.
For the record, I know it does not state that it will make your hair grow (thicker, longer, whatever) and therefore it's not a total fail BUT it does promote a healthy scalp which contributes to hair growth, that is why I mentioned all that in my review.
Retails for $29.50 CAN for 2 fl oz/59ml. Check out www.johnmasters.ca for more information.

Haul and First Impressions!!
I'm back! I've missed blogging so much but Lola needed my attention. She is doing much better and thank you to those who sent get well wishes.
I was able to make it out to Big Carrot and Whole Foods in the last few days and purchased a bunch of things (I had gift cards + some needs). I had specific things that I wanted to get from Big Carrot but they didn't have much of what I wanted (100% Pure products), so I was a tad bummed. Nevertheless, I purchased others in their place. Here's what I got from left to right and my first impression:
Sample of Weleda's new body lotion in Citrus: nice light lotion for summer but wasn't hydrating enough for my dry patches. I'm not a fan of the citrus scent but it was much nicer than I expected. Since it's a sample and I won't do a full review on a sample, I will say that I won't be purchasing this lotion in full size for the reasons listed above.
Pretty Ginger & Cypress Soothing Beauty Mud: I have one more use left of my old container, so of course, I had to restock my favourite mask!
Mary Ginseng House - Ginseng Facial Scrub w/ Revolutionary Soft Microdermabrasion Crystals: I'm almost out of my 100% Pure Pineapple Scrub and actually wanted to try out their carrot one BUT they were out. I asked for recommendations and everyone raved about this product so I got it, wow! I honestly love it so far. Feels like a little micro right at home.
Carina Botanical Therapeutic Tree Essence Daily Moisturizing Shampoo and Body Wash: bought this because I read it was great for scalp/skin conditions. I have cradle cap aka seborrheic dermatitis so I thought this might be good. So far I enjoy it. My hair gets less tangled (even driving with my windows down), scalp seems less itchy and flakey AND the smell doesn't linger (not that it smells bad anyway).
Sante Naturkosmetic Compact Powder in No. 1: shade selection sucks, has an odd smell (not bad) that doesn't linger, doesn't look cakey and the lightest shade is pretty translucent.
Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask: on sale at Whole Foods for $10! I don't eat or like pumpkin pie but it kind of smells like that, a little goes a long way, enjoyed using it for the first time. It left my skin super soft and looking brighter.
I will definitely be posting reviews in a couple of weeks, once I actually give them a good go.
What else should I try out? I'm currently looking for concealer and shadows but am open to suggestions on any makeup or products.

Sad news :(
After celebrating my birthday this weekend, I woke up Monday morning to a struggling to breathe dog. My little Lola spent all day at the vet and has been told that there's water in her lungs. She is now home and on 3 different meds. Seems to be doing better (her breathing anyway) which is a good sign. I probably won't be doing any reviews for a little longer but will definitely have severals things to review since I'm currently testing them.
Keep my little girl in your thoughts and prayers. I'll be back reviewing soon!

Fresh Faced
Canada, are you tired of crazy shipping charges? Long waits for your products? Cross border shopping?
I've got just the place for you then! I was recently introduced to Fresh Faced, an online Canadian retailer (e-tailer) that specifically sells natural beauty products (aka amazingness) that are free from sulfates, synthetic chemicals, parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, and other compromising ingredients. Not only do I love that they're Canadian, sell great products, are competitively priced, but Sally Grover (founder) and Jennifer (thatPRgirl ) are amazingly sweet. What does amazingly sweet have to do with anything? It has to do with everything. That right there tells me that customer service is important to them. A good company prides itself on good customer service and not just bending over backwards for them, but really connecting with them even if it's just through an e-mail.
When I'm looking at ordering from a new e-tailer, I look for a few things:

A good company prides itself on good customer service and not just bending over backwards for them, but really connecting with them even if it's just through an e-mail.
When I'm looking at ordering from a new e-tailer, I look for a few things:
- Is there a phone number and does anybody actually answer it? -no number/no answer = no good
- Is there a mailing and e-mail address? - same as not having a number, it's sketchy and I consider it no good
- How quickly will I receive a response to my e-mail inquiry? -you must email to find out, read my experience with EcoTools and their lack of communication and customer service skills here
- How friendly is the response? - don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. There's the standard copy and paste response and then there's the original and thoughtful response. Mind you, not all responses require thought but regardless, you get me (I hope)
- Hate to say it, but how nice does their site look? - I just feel that if you're going to have an e-store, it should look nice. A tad shallow? Maybe, but come on, do you really want to order off of a crappy and sketchy looking website? I sure don't. There needs to be information about the company, it needs to be easy to navigate and have all the information required prior to making my purchase (shipping information, costs, product info, etc, etc) AND of course include the rest of the stuff above
Based on those right there, http://www.freshfaced.ca/ is a great place to shop at! Just check them out for yourself and you'll see what I mean.
Sally Grover started this business from the back seat of her bike and only a penny in her pocket, I'm just kidding! There was no back seat, she only had one seat. All joking aside, she's actually a successful freelance editor and blogger, owns and edits http://www.frugal-fashionistas.com/ and lives in Toronto *raising the roof*...yah I did that... it's a good thing you couldn't see me...that would have been embarrassing. She has a passion for products that are, as she put it herself, "safe and responsible without compromising luxury or effectiveness". I think that's where most people go wrong, they don't believe that natural products can be as effective and luxurious as toxic filled ones. She started Fresh Faced to help Canadians avoid ridiculously high shipping and duty costs, cross-border shopping, and long waits. I, for one, call it a one-stop-shop because it has so many great brands that I already adore, PLUS it's free shipping (for Canadians) over $25 AND she's already taken out all the guess work for you by selling products that are tried, tested and true by her. These are not just products she sells, they are products that she believes in and uses herself on a daily basis. So many online retailers will sell you products that they have never used themselves, which is fine BUT wouldn't you feel more comfortable purchasing from someone who does use what they sell? It means that you can email the company and someone there will be able to assist you in finding a product that is best suited for your needs. They can give you their own personal thoughts, based on trial and error, on the product. At the end of the day, it is trial and error but it's always great to get feedback prior to purchasing. I mean, that's why we read blogs and reviews.
They currently carry a variety of green beauty products such as Alima Pure, butter LONDON, Coola, Dr. Bronner's, Green Beaver (Canadian), John Masters Organics, Lavera, Nvey Eco, One Love Organics, Pai Skin care, Pangea Organics, Priti NYC, Revolution Organics (Canadian), skinnyskinny, Soapwalla, Suki, Weleda, and Yarok.
Will you be ordering from them or have you already? Let me know!DeVita Solar Protective Moisturizer SPF 30 Review
I first heard about DeVita from, the book, Ecoholic Body. Great book by the way, highly recommend. It's weird because I spend so much time at Big Carrot and never saw this line, maybe I saw the price tag first lol. Adria Vasil said that DeVita was her top choice for SPF so I marched (I actually drove, but same idea) down to Big Carrot in search of this supposedly
amazing sunscreen. They were all out of the Solar Body Block SPF 30 so I asked them to call me when it came in. The girl there, forgot her name or probably never even got it, told me about their facial SPF moisturizer. I tried it on my hand and was immediately sold. She told me that it wouldn't break me out because there was no oil in the product.
Claim: A moisturizing daytime cream and sun block all in one! Formulated specifically for those sensitive to breakouts. Absorbs quickly, and yet leaves the skin nourished and feeling soft and smooth. Offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB sun protection with a USFDA Monograph Sun Protection Factor Determination test level of 32. NO NANO TECHNOLOGY! (average particle size is 240 nm). DeVita skin care products are 100 percent Vegan and Paraben Free. They are considered Gluten Sensitive Safe and never contain GMO's. DeVita products are never tested on animals (only humans!).
Umm, hi, awesome! This is so wonderful and I am beyond thrilled with the purchase. I was using Coola, which I should probably review at some point, and it would break me out. I still used it but I would get cystic type acne by the end of the day, I could literally feel it coming. This is such a nice, light moisturizer. It hydrates without creating any sort of greasy feel or look and provides sun protection. It doesn't really smell like anything. I know "doesn't really smell like anything" usually means it smells like the sweet scent of "unscented" crap. You know, when you smell something that's unscented and it smells horrible but you can't determine what you can compare it to? This has a very light scent of sunblock, not coconut but just a nice light scent that doesn't linger. I apply my Weleda Soothing Almond Lotion, then this, then my 100% Pure Primer and then my makeup. Sounds like it might be too much, but it all absorbs so well into my skin. I really just cannot say enough good things about this product, I will continue repurchasing as it is now my go-to holy grail SPF! I will also be purchasing the body version this weekend and will review after trying it out for a couple of weeks.
Retails for approx. $35 CAN for 75ml/2.5oz and worth every penny. Check out www.devitaskincare.com for more info. It can definitely be purchase at The Big Carrot www.bigcarrot.ca.

Druide Chamomile & Rice Protein Toner Review
In the summer, I go through toner like a champ. I love using it as a cleanser (if that makes sense), when I'm not using makeup and just want a quick "rinse" if you will. I use toner morning, night, afternoon, mid day, evening, and just all the time lol. Pangea's Italian Green Mandarine with Sweet Lime Toner was getting a little pricey to just use all the time SO I purchased something new to use, try and blog about. For the record, I will continue using and repurchasing the Pangea one as well because I loveee it.
Claim: This lotion repairs and moisturizes the skin while rice proteins and hamamelis extracts work to close the skin's pores.
It's great, I've been using it for just under 3 weeks (after makeup removal and whenever I want) and really enjoy it. It's so super gentle and doesn't cause any sort of irritation. There's no strong scent to it, just a very light scent that doesn't linger. It is definitely hydrating, meaning that my skin doesn't feel tight at all after using it. It nicely refreshes my skin while removing any traces of cleanser, dirt, oil, etc. It's also a Canadian brand, BONUS! The ingredients are great, witch hazel is great as a natural astringent and chamomile and rice proteins are great for soothing and balancing. This was really an impulse buy. I was just walking around the whole body section at Big Carrot and it caught my eye, I looked at it, looked at the price and bought it. I definitely don't regret it and I will repurchase it for sure.
Retails for approx. $14 CAN for 250 ml/8.4 us fl oz. Check out http://druide.ca for more info. Can definitely be purchased at The Big Carrot www.bigcarrot.ca and I don't know where else.

Pangea Organics Pyrenees Lavender with Cardamom Body Wash Review
I like using body washes and soaps, I recently did a review on the John Masters Organics Blood Orange & Vanilla Body Wash and I think, maybe, this has replaced that. Well, I'm not sure just yet lol.
Claim: This Body Wash offers a clarifying and smoothing essence with antioxidant benefits while leaving the skin soft and smooth. Doubles as a luxurious shaving product for men and women. Clarifies the mind and smoothes the body
I purchased this from www.well.ca, and should mention that it exploded (spilled) in the box. It happens and they were great with rectifying the situation and I just adore purchasing from them. The point of the story is, my bottle wasn't full when I received it due to the little issue but I have been using what was left in the bottle. Now that I got that out in the open, let me get into the review. Great product! It smells like lavender without being overpowering. It lathers really nicely and you literally need a tiny amount (on your loofah/sponge thing). It hasn't irritated or dried out my skin at all, so I assume it would be great for most skin types unless you react to the soft touch of a baby. In that case, I would probably stick to something completely unscented. I actually really enjoy mixing this with the John Masters one, creates a wonderful combination of scents that just swallows you in the shower (in a good way of course). I have tried using it as a shave gel, but I will at some point and then I'll let you know. Thumbs up, will repurchase, you should try it :)
Retails for approx. $18 CAN. Check out www.pangeaorganicscanada.com. You can purchase it through there as well as www.well.ca.

Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask Review
Oh Antipodes, how I am a sucker for you. This is the most recent Antipodes product that I have tried and if you had a chance to read my review on the Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream, then you will know I am a major sucker for the scent of that cream. This, to me, smells exactly the same. I didn't buy it based on scent though, I bought it because I read some great reviews about it and have been eyeing it for the longest time.
Claim: This facial mask features a traditional remedy of New Zealand Maori people, manuka honey, which powerfully draws moisture to your skin to hydrate it intensely. Fragrances of vanilla pod and mandarin linger to bring peace and balance to your aura - meaning you're tending both your skin and your spirit.
But the smell people, the smell! Dear Antipodes, please make a body lotion that smells like this or body mist, I will purchase it! Ugh..it.just.smells.so.delicious. Moving on from the smell....
Whenever my skin decided to freak out and produce beautiful acne spots (1 to 1000 of them), I would quickly slather this on and just let it sit for as long as I could. If I just needed some extra moisture, I did the same thing. I used it as spot treatment, for acne and dry patches, as well as all over. It's a solid performer when it comes to reducing redness from acne and acne in general quickly. Thank you manuka honey! It definitely hydrates WITHOUT making your skin feel greasy. It actually leaves your skin soothed, hydrated, plump and gorgeous...and the smell...no.. can't talk about the scent again *sigh*.... It comes in a neat little apothecary style tube which was surprisingly easy to squeeze product out from. The Weleda tubes are a little different, but same concept, and I always have a hard time getting all the product out. What's great about this product (besides the smell lol) is that it works for all skin types; it has the antibacterial, soothing and hydrating properties of manuka honey that make it wonderful for all! I will be repurchasing.
Retails for approx. $34 CAN. Check out http://www.antipodesnature.us for more info. Can be purchased at www.spaboutique.ca, www.ebeauty.ca, www.hipapotheca.ca, as well as Whole Foods.
Do you adore this product (and it's scent, of course) as much as I do?

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream
I won't lie, I can't lie, I purchased this based on scent alone. I actually tried and used this product before purchasing the Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream. I needed a moisturizer and the girl at Whole Foods raved about this line. She originally gave me the Rejoice Light Day cream, which was too light for my needs at the time (winter), would be perfect for warmer months.
Claim: A light but intensive facial day cream with New Zealand botanical extracts. Revolutionary Vinanza Grape©, a potent antioxidant extract from Malborough sauvignon blanc grapeseeds, keeps your skin healthy and energized. Native New Zealand manuka honey has powerful antibacterial properties to keep skin clear and fresh. Elements of Beauty: Shea butter is protective and ultra-nourishing, manuka honey relieves dry skin, hydrating squalone from Spanish olives resembles skin’s own oils which helps your skin ‘breathe’ naturally.
Man this cream is great, the scent is so intoxicating. I can't even explain the scent really, it's like vanilla pod (duh, name of it is Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream), but what's vanilla pod? It smells like vanilla but lighter, nicer, I dunno but I wish they made this in a body lotion because I would love to smell like this at all times. I'm a big fan of manuka honey, it definitely is great for hydrating as well as aiding in the elimination of acne. This makes your skin, not only smell good, but feel good. It was super hydrating and a little goes a long way, this jar will last forever. It really smoothed out rough patches as well as soothed my acne. It's a thick textured cream, but absorbs really well. The first couple of times I used it, I applied way too much and looked greasy. If you use a small amount and massage it onto your skin, it will absorb and hydrate beautifully. My mom has mature skin and enjoyed trying this out as well, I had to hide it from her after to avoid her using up my jar! I would repurchase and I know my mom will come winter, and by that I mean she'll purchase her own lol.
Retails for approx. $42 CAN for 60ml. Check out http://www.antipodesnature.us/ for more information. It can be purchased at ebeauty.ca, spaboutique.ca and Whole Foods here in Canada.
Ingredients: Water, Shea Butter, Squalene, Manuka Honey, Avocado Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Rosehip Oil, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Lecithin, Vinanza Grapeseed Extract, Kawa Kawa, Glucono Delta Lactone, Sodium Benzoate, Calcium Guconate, Fragrances Of: Vanilla Oil, Mandarin Oil, Components of Essential Oil: Coumarin, Dlimonene, Linalool, Citral, Citronellol, Geraniol.

Diva Wash Review
This might be a tad awkward/uncomfortable for some, including myself. Some of my friends read this blog and not all know about the Diva Cup or Diva Wash. I can do a review on the cup, if anyone's interested (thank you Daria for bringing it into my life!). Let me know :).
Now this wash..
Claim: We recommend that The DivaWash be used to clean The DivaCup. We have formulated The DivaWash as a botanically-based, all natural cleanser that has been specifically designed to protect the integrity of the silicone material. It is important to use only a natural, non-fragrance soap with The DivaCup. Many soaps leave a residue. These can leave a film on the cup that may cause irritation.
The DivaWash is: Naturally pH balanced, Gentle: Ideal for sensitive skin, Concentrated formula: reduces the eco-footprint, 100% plant-based ingredients, No animal testing or animal ingredients, No parabens, sulfates or petrochemicals. Can be used daily as a facial cleanser or luxurious shower and bath gel. The gentle formula leaves your Diva body clean, soft and never dry.
This wash was specifically created for use with the Diva Cup which is why I originally purchased it. It works well with my Diva Cup, duh that's why it was created! Although, I have a found a few different ways to use it. It lathers really nicely and you only need a tiny amount, which I love. It's a clear gel consistency. It doesn't really smell like anything, so it's perfect for those sensitive to scents. It's pH balanced which is great for all skin types. I used this to cleanse my face when I was doing regular chemical peels at school because of the fact that it's pH balanced. It never irritated my skin and it left it feeling nicely cleansed and hydrated. I use this to clean my Clarisonic AND makeup brushes. If I travel and am using my Diva Cup, I dont take a cleanser and just use this. It's a fantastic product and I will continue to purchase it.
Retails for approx. $9.99. It can be purchased at most health food stores. Check out www.divacup.com for more info.

John Masters Organics Blood Orange & Vanilla Body Wash Review
YUM. That's my review.
Just kidding, but seriously, yum!
Claim: Created with the mildest botanically-based surfactants from corn and coconut, this all-over body wash foams into a creamy, rich, sulfate-free lather that gently removes dirt and oil - leaving skin soft and smooth.
I really enjoy this body wash, it lathers really nicely, smells great and leaves my skin feeling soft. I don't use body wash all the time, so spending money on something slightly more expensive doesn't bother me. I've had this for about 5 months now and I still have a few more washes left, as you can see from my almost empty bottle. It's such a luxurious wash and I would definitely repurchase. It didn't irritate my skin at all. You only need a quarter size amount on your loofa or sponge, well I only needed about a quarter size amount, and you can wash your entire body twice. The delicious scent does linger but not for hours on end. Hmm..not much else I can say about this body wash...smells great, cleans body, doesn't irritate, the end. lol.
Retails for approx. $25 CAN. Check out http://www.johnmasters.ca/ for more info. It can be purchased at http://www.hipapotheca.com/ as well as most health food stores like Whole Foods.

Yarok Feed Your Ends Leave-In Conditioner Review
I actually purchased this from http://www.hipapotheca.com/ for $23 CAN for 8 oz because I was looking for a leave-in conditioner and received a discount code. I read some reviews on this brand and most people seemed to like it. I hate to say it, but I'm not impressed.
Claim: Prevent damage from heat syling while helping prevent global warming. Protect your ends from with this nutritious, leave-in conditioner spray, packed with vitamins, minterals and essential oils that nourish hair prior to blow drying or heat styling and join Yarok in helping protect one of the world's greatest natural resources, the Amazon Rainforest.
Okay, that all sounds really great and I'm glad they're trying to make the world a better place BUT this product is horrible. First off, it does not detangle. Leave-in conditioners generally tend to detangle the hair when you put it in your hair, not this. If I use a million sprays, then yes but it then leaves my hair feeling like a giant grease slick. Second, as a heat protectant it works alright, I guess. It's weird though, it adds a film to my hair and makes it super greasy by the end of the day even if I only use like 4 sprays (not even on my roots). I am just not a fan. It smells great and the scent doesn't linger, if it ends up not being your cup of tea, but I will not repurchase. I think that this product would be better for those with thicker, dry or curly hair. I definitely think it would help restore moisture and add a beautiful shine but for fine hair, it just doesn't work. I currently use it as a scalp treatment because I don't want to throw it out. Not sure it's actually doing anything for my scalp but as long as I'm using it up, that's what matters lol.
Is there a better way of using this product? What Yarok product do you love?

Pretty Healing Mineral Bath Salts in Chamomile & Ginger Review
I am a huge fan of Pretty, as you may already know. I'm going to start off by saying that I am not a bath person. I bought this on a whim but plan on using it up. I love how clean this brand is and that they're Canadian, yay!
Claim: Let a hot bath of blue chamomile and wild ginger soothe your soul and relax your mind after a long day of hard work. Mineral-rich epsom salts reduce inflammation and help to heal sore muscles. Pure kaolin clay draws out toxins and impurities from your skin. Let yourself be embraced by the tranquility of chamomile buds and amaranth flowers. Leaves skin soft and radiant.
I'll be honest, I've used this twice but really enjoyed it. It smells SOOO heavenly and made my skin feel so soft and look radiant. The scent alone takes you away to lala land, epsom salts are great for your body and kaolin clay really does draw out impurities...it's fact really. If I ever have a super nice bath tub or suddenly enjoy baths over showers, I would repurchase this in a heart beat. I won't even look for something else to try, I'm sold on this. I may even repurchase just to have for the odd time I do take a relaxing bath. Give it a shot! If my amazing and descriptive (haha) review hasn't sold you, just look at the pictures. It's too bad I couldn't make them scratch n' sniff!
Retails for approx. $15 CAN for 200 grams. Can be purchased at Essence of Life Organics and http://www.prettynaturalskin.com/.

Physicians Formula Organic Wear Bronzer & Blush Review
I've used a few of the Organic Wear products before, but never came across the bronzer & blush duo. While wandering the aisles of Winners, I came across this little gem. I more fell in love with the peachy blush than the bronzer, but ended up loving both.
Claim: Hypoallergenic, fragrance free, & dematologist approved. 100% free of harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives, parabens, GMO's, synthetic colours and fragrances. It's also cruelty free and Eco Cert approved.
I am loving this product. The blush is a perfect peach and it's pretty pigmented. The bronzer is a nice light bronzer for fair to medium skin tones. There's the slightest shimmer to this. It's not a glitter parade or anything, it's just a beautiful extra glow. I'm not a fan of too much razzle dazzle on my cheeks, I wouldn't stray ya wrong! I sometimes use it individually, contour with the bronzer and colour my cheeks with the blush but for the most part I swirl them both together and apply to cheeks (for summer). I can't explain how it looks. It's sorta like a bronzed goddess but with a pink tint. So natural. It lasts the whole work day (8 hours) for the most part. If I'm going out after work, I'll apply a little extra if I feel I need it. I wish I had discovered this sooner to be honest, it's a great product.
I purchased it for $10 CAN, but I believe it is now discontinued. I couldn't find it at Shoppers or Walmart, just Winners and they're all gone (at the Winners near me anyway). I love this so much that I ended up hunting down another one and buying it. If you like this and are able to find it near you, or on Amazon, get it! You won't be disappointed.
Has anyone else tried this product? If so, did you enjoy it or was it a fail in your eyes and why?
Ingredients: Mica, zea mays (corn starch)*, octyldodecyl stearoyl stearate, kaolin, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil*, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil*, glyceryl caprylate, glycine soja (soybean) oil*, vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil*, oryza sativa (rice) hull powder, bambusa arundinacea stem powder, cinnamic acid, tocopheryl acetate.
