November 2013 Empties!

This month, I don't have many full sized beauty empties but I do have a bunch of random empties like food, vitamins, etc. Starting January, I will no longer be including the randoms unless they're new items. You don't really need to see, or care I'm sure, that I've finished another bottle of probiotics.
So here's what I've finished this month....

Ground Soap in Backbone - review here - I am obsessed with Ground Soap and this particular scent. It smells like cinnamon and clove, it exfoliates and cleans, and I just love it. I haven't repurchased yet because I'm hoping to stock up at the show in April.

Yarok Feed Your Volume Shampoo - review here - This did not work for my hair or scalp at all. I gave up using it as a shampoo and ended up using (and loving) it as a body wash! Will not be repurchasing.

Corpa Flora Éclat Citrouille Antioxidant Night Cocktail - review here - It leaves my skin looking and feeling amazing, and it smells so good. Already purchased the full size.

*Odacité 10 Day Treatment Set - review here - Fantastic brand and set but, too expensive for my current budget.

*Graydon All Over Soap - review here - Lovely soap! I left this on my bathroom counter and used it as hand soap. I'm a little bored of the scent now but, will definitely repurchase at some point.

*Earthpaste in Wintergreen - review here -  This is the only toothpaste that I use and this flavour is great. I like to alternate between Wintergreen and Peppermint. Already repurchased in Peppermint.

Revolution Organics Freedom Lip Gloss in Truth - review here - There's still a little in there that I could probably use but, it's starting to smell funny, I'm throwing it out. The colour is really nice and works great alone or over lipstick. It's quite expensive and I prefer MarieNatie glosses over these. Will not be repurchasing.

Crawford Street Lemon Deodorant Cream - review here - I'm throwing this out because it doesn't work for me and I can't stand the scent.

Udo's Super 8 Plus Probiotic - I take probiotics daily and these are ones I often have in rotation. Probiotics really help me with digestion and reduce bloating significantly. Already repurchased a different brand.

New Chapter Every Woman One Daily Multi Vitamin - These were great and affordable. They are definitely one of my favourites and I will likely repurchase.

Mega Food Blood Builder - I've always had low iron and have needed to take a supplement. These contain B12, folic acid, vit c and iron, all great for you. Vitamin C actually helps with absorption of iron, so it's kind of genius to combine them in a whole food vitamin. Since I've been taking these, my iron has gone up. Already repurchased.

Chia Goodness in Chocolate - This stuff is sooooo good. I like to put it in oatmeal, smoothies, recipes, on ice cream or yogurt, basically in anything that I can. I've already repurchased.

Eian Organic Pumpkin Seeds - I bought these at Winners (similar to Marshalls and TJ Max). Pumpkin seeds are high in zinc, magnesium and omega 3's and have several health benefits. They taste delicious and I put them in and on anything I can (just like Chia Goodness). I've repurchased another brand.

Wedderspoon 100% Raw Manuka Honey - I love using honey as a sweetener and decided to splurge and see what all the fuss is about with manuka honey. Omg, it's so delicious. I went through that little 250 ml jar within a few weeks. I've repurchased the larger size.

What have you finished up this month?

October 2013 Empties!

I love this time of the month. It's a time of unloading and letting go of trash. I finished up a bunch of stuff this month, so grab a cup of something and a snack as this is going to be rather lengthy.

In no particular order....

*Delizioso Passion Fruit Organic Body Oil - review here - This was an absolutely lovely body oil. Very nourishing and moisturizing, and absorbed into the skin easily. Took it on vacation and my skin drank it up! I would definitely repurchase, just not in this scent or right now.

Badger Aloe SPF 15 Sunscreen - review here - This little bottle came in handy for reapplying on the beach and was great for travelling with as it never leaked. I loved the hydrating ingredients, but didn't enjoy the white cast that it left behind. Won't be repurchasing this particular one.

DeVita SPF 30 Body Block - review here - For the price, this was a fantastic sized sunscreen. I liked that it didn't smell weird (or have the "unscented" scent) and absorbed for the most part. My biggest issue was that it flaked/balled/pilled within a couple of hours. For that reason, I don't think I will be repurchasing.

Weleda Baby Calendula Face Cream - review here - Favourite cream ever. Already repurchased.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Cocktail Body Wash (sample) - no review - Smelled great but it left my skin feeling a bit dry, too much foaming action perhaps. I also wasn't too fond of the ingredients. Won't be purchasing the full size.

Consonant Ultra Moisturizing Face Cream for Dry Skin (sample) - Super moisturizing for sure. My skin soaked it up and it worked great under makeup. Debating on picking up the full size.

Consonant Moisturizing Face Cream (sample) - Wasn't moisturizing enough for my parched skin. Won't be purchasing the full size.

Consonant Citrus Bergamot Organic Body Lotion (sample) - Lovely scent but wasn't moisturizing enough for my parched skin. Won't be purchasing the full size.

Dr. Mist Unscented Spray Deo (sample) - review here - Great for travelling with, but too drying for the colder months. I also finished up a full size, which you'll see below.

Weleda Pomegranate Body Oil (sample) - review here - Loved this oil so much and have gone through a few bottles. Will likely purchase the full size again at some point but, I'd like to try other body oils.

*SBT Seabuckthorn Hand, Skin, Berry, Day, & Night Cream - review here - My absolutely favourite was the day cream. I found it to be the only one hydrating/moisturizing enough for my skin. Debating on purchasing the full size.

Badger Highland Mint Lip & Body Balm - review here - I ended up using this as a foot balm and it worked great! It lasted me several months, a little goes a long way, and the minty scent is refreshing. I have a few balms to use up, so I won't be repurchasing right now.

Earth Lilly Moroccan Rhassoul Clay Scalp & Hair Wash - no review - I have a love/hate relationship with this product. It helped soothe my itchy scalp dermatitis, but left my hair feeling gritty and greasy. My first bottle developed a weird smell, which Earth Lilly was quick to replace. The replacement bottle never set foot in the shower, yet developed the same scent (think vomit). I don't think the product lasts long after being opened, which is disappointing because it's about $20 CAN for a small bottle. You have to use quite a bit and the effort is just too much for me to keep up with. Will not be repurchasing.

Diva Wash - review here - Was great for washing my Diva Cup, face, body, etc. I've started using Dr. Bronner's for my Diva Cup, therefore, I won't be repurchasing.

Dr. Mist - review here - Works well but dries out my underarms in the colder months. Won't be repurchasing right now.

Hugo Naturals Sweet Eucalyptus - review here - I have loved these soaps for years, but this scent just didn't do it for me and I found the soap a little too slimy. Perhaps my love for Hugo is dwindling after trying out some amazing Canadian brands. Won't be repurchasing.

PF Fake Out Mascara - review here - Loved this mascara but, this tube dried out within about a month and a half, which is sad. Unless I find this on sale, I'm going to try some other mascaras.

Alima Pura Satin Matte Foundation in Warm 2 - review here - I really loved this foundation even though the colour match wasn't perfect. It's lasted me a year and a half or so, and  it was great value for money. I've since discovered my love for liquid foundations and the beautyblender. Won't be repurchasing right now.

Pukka Relax Tea, Pukka Chamomile & Vanilla Tea, & Pukka Three Variety Pack - no review - I love tea soooo much and these Pukka ones are my faves. I'm making it my mission to try as many as possible. Relax contains fennel and marshmallow root which are really great for the digestive system and (marshmallow in particular) for rebuilding the intestinal walls. I notice such a difference when I drink this tea; belly soothing, no bloating, and better digestion if you will. Chamomile & Vanilla is also very soothing and tastes delicious. I've gone through several boxes of this stuff. Three Variety Pack contained five different types of tea; Three Mint, Three Fennel, Three Green, Three Ginger, and Three Tulsi. The fennel and tulsi ones were hard to drink, they didn't taste that great (to me). I've repurchased Relax and Three Green, but will definitely pick up CV again.

Organic Pumpkin Seed Butter - no review - This was surprisingly delicious and I enjoyed it on toast and in raw protein bars I made (recipe to come..one day lol). Would repurchase, just not right now.

Freshly Ground Peanut Butter - no review - PB is one of my favourite things ever and freshly ground PB is just phenomenal. I tried making the raw protein bars with this, just to see how it tasted, and there were mixed reviews. See why I don't want to put up a recipe? I want to master it first :P. Would repurchase, just not right now.

New Chapter Probiotic - no review - I take probiotics daily and enjoy rotating brands. This one is less expensive than Udo's and works well. Will repurchase, but currently using Udo's.

Ruth's Chia Goodness in Chocolate - no review - SO GOOD!!! I mix this in everything; oatmeal, yogurt, ice cream (dairy free or not), baked goods, smoothies, etc. It contains chia, hemp, and buckwheat which makes it a powerhouse source of nutrients. I always have a backup, which means that I've already repurchased.

Pangea Japanese Matcha Mask - review here - I purchased this mask on sale and it was well worth it. It's lasted a long while and I found it to actually brighten up my skin. After 5 months of use, I'm ready to try something new. Won't be repurchasing.

*Corpa Flora Beaute Divine Oil Cleanser  - review here - Just wrote the review, love it. I still have another 30ml bottle.

*Olie Biologique 006 Calming Oil - review here - This is a strongly chamomile scented oil that really did help to calm the skin. It absorbed beautifully and reduced redness within minutes. I enjoyed mixing it into clay masks for the extra soothing properties. Won't be repurchasing right now.

Zuzu Luxe Brow Pencil in Russet - review here - I honestly didn't think this pencil was going to last as long as it did. It's the perfect shade match for my brows and lasts all day. Already repurchased.

I'm tossing these three products and here's why..

The All Natural Face "Magic" Eye Primer - review here - It didn't work for me and it seems it might be getting old as there are oil bits separating in the tube.

TANF Vegan Eye Shadow Primer in Buff  - review here - Worked even less than the "magic" primer and I can't even use it as a concealer because it's too cakey.

Dr. Alkaitis Eye Creme - review here - Really enjoyed this eye creme. I thought I lost it, but recently found it again and it smells weird. Probably went bad.

Phew, I'm done! I managed to use up a lot of stuff this month, proud moment for me. Let me know in the comments below what you finished up or link to your blog post/YT video :)

September 2013 Empties!

Another month has come and gone way too quickly. What's even sadder is that I originally wrote "October 2013 Empties!", then I realized it's still September. Good job Nicole, skip a month why don't you. Clearly I'm tired and slightly delusional...trash talk time.

Consonant Organic Moisturizing Eye Cream Sample - no review - It's alright, but I don't think it's hydrating enough right now let alone when it gets much colder. I won't be purchasing the full size.

Consonant Organic Firming Eye Cream Sample - no review - This eye cream wasn't moisturizing at all, however, it definitely gave a tightening effect/feel. While I'd love to reap the benefits of this firming eye cream, I need my under eyes to be well moisturized for optimal concealer wear. I won't be purchasing the full size.

Pai Camellia & Rose Cleanser Sample - no review - I have been dying to try this cleanser because of all the high praises it gets and finally got a sample. Meh. Not sure what to say about it. It's nice. It seemed to be more like a butter/balm texture than a milk or lotion, so I'm not sure if I got the proper full experience. Based on this sample alone, I won't be purchasing the full size.

Pai Kukui & Jojoba Bead Exfoliator Sample - no review - I found this very gentle, which is what it's supposed to be. It did leave my skin soft and maybe brighter, but for the price I'd rather just use my Sephora pad. I won't be purchasing the full size.

Evanhealy Rose Geranium Facial Tonic Sample - no review - Beautiful facial tonic for restoring hydration, setting makeup, and freshening up mid-day. This sample and the next, made me realize that I do not like the smell of rose geranium. I won't be purchasing the full size.

Evanhealy Rose Vetiver Day Moisturizer Sample - no review - Didn't hydrate enough and smelled awful. I won't be purchasing the full size.

Avalon Organics Nourishing Lavender Shampoo Sample - no review - This sample lasted me a couple of washed. I loved this the very first wash and was actually ready to buy it right away. Then, I washed my hair a few days later and my scalp went nuts. It was so itchy that I literally scratched it raw. Keep in mind, I have dermatitis. It might work wonders for you. Won't be picking up the full size.

Earthpaste Wintergreen Toothpaste - review here - I love this toothpaste sooooo much and each tube lasts me about 2 months. It cleans my teeth well and freshens my breathe without any nasty ingredients. The wintergreen flavour is really lovely, that's coming from a peppermint only gal. I can see myself switching it up between this one and peppermint. I've already repurchased.

A. Vogel Green Clay - no review - Clay masks are fantastic and I use them regularly to help with my hormonal breakouts. I tend to mix this with white clay and honey for a gentle, dirt sucking, zit zapping, skin brightening combo. It's much cheaper than buying already prepared clay masks, but I think I'm going back to Pretty. I just love the Pretty clay masks and find they last a long time. I won't be repurchasing right now.

Lemme Bee Your Honey Ground Soap - review here - This soap was really nice and worked well as a body soap and shave bar. I love that the bars are massive and that they're a Canadian brand. Will definitely repurchase, just not in this scent.

Oneka Unscented Shampoo - no review - I purchased their citrus shampoo a little while back and said that I wouldn't repurchase in my June empties. Came across the unscented version and thought I could add essential oils to make it work better for my scalp and hair. I was wrong, really wrong. This shampoo makes my hair super greasy and irritates my dermatitis. It makes an AMAZINGLY hydrating body wash though. I won't be repurchasing for sure this time.

Aura Cacia Jojoba Oil - no review - Technically, I didn't finish this yet. I transferred it into a small glass bottle, but didn't want to hang on to trash.  It's still an empty, right!? The bottle is empty!

Weleda Pomegranate Body Oil - review here - Love, love, love this body oil. The scent is beautiful, it nourishes the skin and is just such a pleasure to use. I've gone through two bottles of it and actually bought a third, then returned it. Why did I return a body oil that I love so much? I want to try something new and Canadian. I won't be repurchasing right now.

Raw Almond Butter by Nuts to You Nut Butter - no review - I know it looks like I go through butters every month, but I've had this one for two months. I swear! Anyway, it wasn't my favourite. I love the raw, freshly ground almond butter from Whole Foods and this just didn't compare. It tasted a bit stale and seemed a bit gooey. I won't be repurchasing, I'll stick to freshly ground!
Just Cavalli Her - no review - Yes, this is a toxic and chemical filled perfume that I finally finished up. It's a great summer fragrance and if you haven't greened this section of your routine, you should check it out. I, however, am trying to find natural blends that appeal to me. Aside from Pacifica and Lavanila, I can't find anything natural that I like. I obviously won't be repurchasing. If you have any suggestions on companies that create fruity or exotic coconut/vanilla scents without the use of ylang ylang or jasmine, let me know.
Done and done! I'm pooped and off to bed now, but I'd love to know what you finished up this month :). Let me know below.

July 2013 Empties!

Ahh empties, the time of the month where I can finally throw away all of my trash and begin a new collection of garbage (literally). Without further ado, here's my trash for the month!

Dr. Bronner's Shikakai Lavender Soap - review here - Lovely hand soap and lovely scent, lasted forever, but irritated my small patch of eczema on my hands. Won't be repurchasing.

Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap in Unscented/Baby - review here - I really love this liquid soap because of it's multi use ability. The unscented was purchased to use as a body wash and it was great, however, I really love the peppermint and eucalyptus scents much more. Will repurchase, just not in unscented.

All Things Herbal Naturally Irish Soap in Dublin Mint - no review -  I received this in my March Seasons Box and while I loved the refreshing mint scent, I hated how slimy and slippery it felt in the shower *cringes*.

Naked Organix Tamanu Bar - review here - I went through this bar very quickly but loved how it helped keep my chest, back and shoulder breakouts at bay. Will definitely repurchase once I use up some other soap.

Coconut Oil - no review - Don't worry, I removed that little chunk at the bottom there. I adore coconut oil and have been eating it more than I have been using it for skin care. I will be repurchasing!

White (Kaolin) Clay - no review - I love white clay for my sensitive skin and generally mix it with green for a super detoxifying face mask. Will be repurchasing.

Earthpaste Lemon Twist Toothpaste - review here -  I had the peppermint flavour in my last empties, but I had actually finished it up at the beginning of June. So really, these tubes last me about 2 months. Redmond actually sent me all of the flavours, except peppermint because I purchased that myself, to try. This works just as well as the peppermint, but I hate the flavour. I'm such a boring person and just love the traditional mint/wintergreen/peppermint/anything minty toothpaste over any other flavours. This would be ideal for adventurous people, lemon lovers and kids because it literally tastes like lemon meringue. For the record, I don't like lemon meringue pie...fully aware that I suck :P.

Dr. Alkaitis Nourishing Treatment Oil - review here - I've grown to love this oil more and more. The smell is so intoxicating and I LOVE applying it after a shower. It's beyond luxurious and really keeps my skin soft. It's super expensive but I think I might treat myself one of these days.

Dr. Alkaitis Purifying Facial Cleanser - review here - Hated this cleanser. It irritated my skin and, in an attempt to not throw it out, I used it to wash my feet. Will not be purchasing.

New Roots Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil - review here - Love sea buckthorn oil, hated the bottle that the New Roots one came in because it wouldn't close properly. The bottle above is a bottle that I purchased to put it in. I've been sent SBT Seabuckthorn Seed Oil and am now using that. Won't repurchase New Roots.

One Love Organics Easy Does it, Morning Glory & Brand New Day -  Review here - Really enjoyed this set and would consider purchasing the cleanser and Morning Glory serum since they work super well together.

Elabloom Facial Oil Sample - no review - This was a tiny sample, only had enough for a few days. It, sadly, contains Argan oil which gives me little red bumps all over my face. Won't be purchasing the full size.

Badger Balm Cocoa Butter Lip Balm in Mocha - review here - This balm took me forever to finish up! I'm officially sick of the scent but love how well it works at hydrating my lips. I have two other flavours on the go right now. One thing I have noticed, about cocoa butter lip balms in general, is that they get rough when they're in hot/cold temperatures. I guess the melting and cooling affects the texture, which sucks.

Simply Natural Chamilla Lip Balm - review here - Really didn't enjoy this balm due to the scent and it's ineffectiveness at keeping my lips hydrated. Won't be purchasing.

Cheeky Cosmetics Blush Samples in Cheeky & Flirt - review here - I found these to be a little too bright and sparkly for my liking. Won't be purchasing full sizes.

Tarte Eye Primer Sample - no review - Adored this eye primer because it actually worked at making my shadows more vibrant and last. I'm considering a full size even though it's not all that natural.

MegaFood Blood Builder Supplement - no review -  I have low iron, not super low but still low, and must take a supplement. I love that this is a whole food source which means it's easily absorbed by the body. It also doesn't constipate me. On top of containing iron, it also contains vitamin C, B12 and folate. Has it helped my iron levels? I'll let you know after I get blood work done. I've already repurchased in the meantime.

Tossing Out

Pure+Simple Oily/Impure Sunscreen - review here - I can't stand this stuff. I applied it on my body, before heading to the pool, and I literally looked like Casper. I didn't burn, but I also didn't get a tan. Throwing it out!

Inika Foundation in Beige Sample - this is too dark and fragrance for me. Even with a tan, it just doesn't match. Even if it did, the scent is such a turn off. Tossing.

Jane Iredale Disappear Concealer - review here - I used up most of this and I'm pretty sure there's only a little left, but it's just not working for me. It rubs off and creates, what looks like, dry patches. In the bin it goes!

Phew, done. Before starting new products, I really like to finish up samples or things that are already open. I try not to throw out or waste product unless absolutely necessary (ex. can't make it work at all or not suitable for anyone I know).

What have you finished up this month?

May 2013 Empties!

I now get why in most Youtube empties videos they start with, "I can't believe (enter month) is already over". Time seems to be passing quicker and quicker every month. As usual, this will be a lengthy empties with some random products. I'm going to try and keep it short and sweet.

Skin Care

Pai Echium Biorejuvenate Eye Cream - review here - This is such a lovely eye cream. It's light, yet hydrated well, and did seem to slightly minimize the appearance of my fine lines. It worked great alone or under makeup. I've gone through two tubes of it and will likely repurchase.

Weleda Baby Calendula Face Cream - review here - LOVE.THIS.STUFF. It is so moisturizing, nourishing and just wonderful. I use it on my face and body on the regular and have already repurchased.

Camocare Organics Instant Radiance AHA Lifting Peel - review here - This was a nice chemical exfoliating product. Was it better than P+S lactic or Devita glycolic blend? No. I wouldn't repurchase.

Aura Cacia Avocado Oil - no review - I was experimenting with different oils and making my own blended facial oils in the Winter. I think Avocado oil is a bit heavy for my skin, so I ended up using it in my hair which worked great. I wouldn't repurchase though.

Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel Toner - review here - I've gone through several bottles of this stuff, it's my absolute favourite toner at a such a great price point. I'm not going to repurchase right now because I've been experimenting with a DIY apple cider vinegar and aloe toner.

Scrubs

BambuEarth Sugar Cookie Body Polish - review here - This left my skin soft but the scent was too strong for me. Great company, great ingredients, just not the scrub for me.

Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub - review here - I really enjoyed the taste of this scrub. It's sweet and salty, and worked great at exfoliating my lips. Won't be repurchasing because I'm going to attempt (not like it's hard) my own lip scrub.

Samples

Suki Transformative Cleansing Clay/Bio-active Purifying Face Serum/ Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser - These sample packets were way too small to decide if they a. did anything and b. did anything. I've had multiple samples of the exfoliate foaming cleanser and that's lovely.

Dermalogica Daily Resurfacer - I was using the daily resurfacer while in my second skin care course and it worked really well on my skin. I found it reduced break outs and helped lighten acne scars. Obviously the sample was a one time use, but it gave my skin an overnight boost. It's pretty expensive and not totally natural, I likely won't purchase.

Dr. Alkatis Organic Cellular Repair Mask - review here - I didn't find this mask did anything special for my skin. I won't purchase the full size.

More Samples

Dr. Alkatis Organic Herbal Toner - review here - This was a nice toner. It hydrated, cleansed, didn't irritate or burn my skin, and smelled nice. A little expensive for a toner though, I won't purchase the full size.

Dr. Alkatis Organic Soothing Gel - review here - My face initially burned upon applying this soothing gel, but it got used to it. I found it helped heal acne and calm down my skin. I'm still unsure on if I'd purchase the full size. I guess if I'm that unsure, it's likely I won't.

Green Beaver Green Tea Facial Cream - I also used this in my skin care course as my moisturizer for each facial. So instead of whoever worked on me applying a chemical filled moisturizer, I used this and it was great. It hydrated and soothed my skin really nicely. I think I may purchase the full size eventually.

Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence - I kept this in my purse to refresh my makeup during the day. It's pretty miniature but one spritz is all I needed. It's very scented, overpowering really. It's not a scent that I could see myself getting used to. I won't be purchasing the full size.

I actually met Nancy and Patricia, who own Shoosha True, at The Big Carrot earlier this month. The line is geared towards babies and mothers/mothers to be. Patricia told me how the products can be used as skin care and how both (Nancy and Patricia) use their products on their face. Both ladies were super sweet and passionate that I ended up getting a couple of samples to try on my face.

Shoosha True Gentlest Baby Wash & Shampoo (Unscented) - It was nice, slightly foaming, unscented cleanser. It worked well at removing most of my makeup and keeping my skin hydrated. I still much prefer my Pangea cleanser though and so I won't be picking up the full size.

Shoosha True Rejuvenate Stretch Mark  Serum - Apparently this works wonders on both Patricia and Nancy. What really made me want to try it is the tamanu oil in it. Y'all know how much I love tamanu! Sadly, it gave me little red bumps all over my forehead. I ended up using it on some actual stretch marks (behind my knees, hips, etc). Of course, it's too small a sample to see a difference but it smelled really nice and could work with continued use.

Randoms

Pukka Tea in Chamomile & Vanilla, Harmonise, and Green Tea - Yes, I have a tea problem. I especially have a Pukka tea problem because I just love them. In all fairness, I think I have 2 bags left of both Chamomile & Vanilla and Harmonise, but in attempt to make space and throw out the boxes, I included them. I absolutely love C&V! It's so soothing and comforting, I've actually already purchased a backup. Harmonise was alright, I didn't find it to taste like much. I won't be repurchasing that one. The Green Tea was really nice because it's a blend of three different green teas. This was actually my second (or third) box. I'm going to look into a loose leaf green tea next, so I haven't repurchased.

More Randoms

Udo's Choice Flora Probiotic Super 8 Plus - I talked about this probiotic in my April Empties. I've noticed a massive difference since taking probiotics and this one is apparently really great. I've already repurchased but I go through them rather quickly, so I may look into a different brand next time.

Mega Food Women's One Daily - I really like taking a multi when I don't feel like I ate enough or ate nutritious enough. This one in particular is supposed to be a whole food multi, basically the vitamins and minerals come from actual food sources and can be better absorbed by the body. This is a great brand and even my boyfriend bought some as well. I haven't actually repurchased this brand. I'm trying another whole food brand that's a little more wallet friendly.

Tossing

EOS Shave Cream in Pomegranate Raspberry - I bought this like two years ago, not even looking at the ingredients. I figured their EOS lip balm is pretty natural so their other products must be as well. A tip, from me to you, never assume! I don't shave often because I've had laser hair removal done, that's why this lasted me forever. It smells amazing but it's loaded with crap ingredients like fragrance, mineral oil, etc, etc.

Also tossing

Dr. Alkatis Night Crème - review here - I actually found this after I had tossed everything out, but since it's not being used I've decided to toss it. Both my mom and I don't enjoy this cream and we agree it's too heavy regardless of how much or little we use.

If you've made it through the entire post, I applaud you. It was exhausting to write, probably because it's late and I'm pretty tired, and I hope it wasn't as exhausting to read.

Let me know what you've finished up!

April 2013 Empties!

Well hello there lovies! It's that time of the month again, not THAT time of the month but empties time of the month! As usual, I have gone through too many things and I'm just going to jumping right in.

Skin Care

Lush Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser - review here - I love this cleanser so much and it lasted me just under 4 months. I used it on my face and upper body to help exfoliate, control break outs and make my skin soft. I have not yet repurchased because I'm doing daily facials at school and really cannot use the additional exfoliation that this cleanser provides. I will repurchase at some point.

Tamanu Oil - review here - Tamanu oil is a must have oil for all skin types and conditions. It works well to hydrate and heal (acne, scratches, burns, etc). I have already repurchased.

Weleda Refining Toner - review here - I didn't finish this, I dumped it. I tried it, my mom tried it, my 16 year old cousin tried it, my friend tried it and we all hated it. We all have different skin types and conditions but found this to burn and irritate our skin. I will not repurchase.

Apricot Kernel Oil - no review - I'm not sure why I never did a review but I love AKO for moisturizing. I've used it in my hair, in my cleansing oil, as a moisturizer, etc, and find it works amazingly well without breaking me out. I will repurchase this as soon as I finish some of my other oils.

Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes - review here - Not getting into this again lol. I don't like it and I won't repurchase.

Body/Hair Care

Lush Massage Bar - review here - I really like the idea of these as a solid body butter but I cannot stand the smell of this bar anymore. It literally makes me nauseous every time I catch a whiff. I'm tossing it and won't repurchase.

Weleda Calendula Lotion - review disappeared - I know I wrote a review, but I can't find it now :S. It's really moisturizing and has a light fresh scent. Sadly, I went through this so darn quickly. I may repurchase at some point, but not right now.

Hugo Shower Gel in Vanilla & Sweet Orange - review here - This wash is absolutely fantastic! I love that it gently cleanses, lathers nicely, and smells nice. I'm sort of sick of vanilla & sweet orange scents now, and have so much soap to use up, but I'd repurchase one of their body washes again.

Hugo Shea Butter & Oatmeal Soap - review here - Hands down the best soaps that I have ever tried, not much else to say. I have a few Christmas scented bars that I'm using now and will definitely repurchase.

Badger Antioxidant Hair Oil - review here - Such a lovely hair oil. Both my hair and scalp enjoyed when I used this and it's something I'd repurchase.

Lafe's Crystal Deodorant - review here - This deodorant works, but...the crystal fell off the base and apparently potassium alum is a questionable ingredient. I will not repurchase.

Alima Pure Lipbalm in Rhubarb - review here - I had such a love/hate relationship with these balms. They offer a limited number of beautiful shades but, the balm itself becomes gritty after awhile of use (when it wears down) which makes application uneven. I didn't even finish this balm because it was so soft and gritty that it literally felt like using an old glue stick except moisturizing. Know what I mean? An old glue stick starts to clump and not apply evenly? I won't be repurchasing.

Randoms

Pukka Cleanse Tea & Green Tea - no review - I love Pukka tea soooo much. Their teas are so smooth tasting and just beautiful to drink. Cleanse had a mild peppermint taste which grew on me and I'd definitely repurchase. Green Tea was just lovely and I've already repurchased it, along with Harmonise.

I debated on putting the next two in there, only because they are so random. I, personally, love seeing what brands and types of supplements others are taking and thought maybe there would be a couple of others who are the same.

Udo's Choice Flora Probiotic Super 8 Plus - no review - We've all heard about how great probiotics are for your digestion and overall intestinal health. This is my second month taking these and have noticed a massive change in my digestion. I take iron supplements, which can be hard on my tummy causing constipation, bloating and upset stomach. I'm not bloated at all anymore and am much more regular. You can read more about this particular probiotic here.

Garden of Life Vitamin Code Raw Iron - no review - I've had low iron for many years now, even before I gave up meat. I've tried just eating foods high in iron and found it wasn't enough, so I take a supplement. This brand is fantastic because they're vegan, raw, and from what I was told, they're whole food. Whole food means the vitamins and minerals come from plant sources which means your body can better absorb it, correct me if I'm wrong. I really enjoyed these but I'm trying a new brand now. You can read more about this supplement here.

It's not over yet, I have a part 2 coming! It'll be the samples that I finished this month :).
