Brand Focus: Meow Meow Tweet

Meow Meow Tweet. Meeeooow Meeeeooow Tweet. I just love saying that name, anyone else? It's fun, sassy, and creative, much like the packaging and Founders/Creators (Tara and Jeff). This small batch, American, company has been blowing up, and with good reason. Their products are well thought out and made with nothing but pure love. I've actually already reviewed their Lavender Deodorant Cream. Since then, MMT has kindly sent me a bunch of a samples to try out and one in particular has blown my mind.

MMT sent me a sample of their *Rosemary Lime Soap, *Face + Body Toning Mist, *Cocoa Lip Balm (full size), *Face Oil, *Cocoa Cream, and *Tea Tree Lavender Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream. Ingredients for each of these products will be listed at the very end of this post.

*Rosemary Lime Soap: This soap is a real treat. I've been using it to wash my hands and absolutely adore the bits of cornmeal that gently exfoliate. The scent is light and fresh, and I love how well it melts makeup off of my hands. Also, I love that they don't use palm oil in their soaps. I got my eye on their Cinnamon Coffee bar and Grapefruit Mint bar.

*Cocoa Cream: This chocolate smelling goodness is super rich and nourishing. It melts on contact with the skin and soaks right in. I love that this contains absolutely no waxes, it's just rich oils and butters. I'm saving it for the polar vortex weather (*cries*)!

*Tea Tree Lavender Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream: This deodorant doesn't work well for me. I hate the strong tea tree scent and find that I get stinky within a couple of hours. This is not available, it was kindly custom blended for me. However, they do have a baking soda free deodorant that actually does work and IS available. Keep scrolling to read about it :).

*Face + Body Toning Mist in Geranium Basil: Tara had mentioned that this could work well to soothe and deodorize my irritated pits, it did. I also tried it on my face and enjoyed how refreshing it was. Given that the sample is so small, I think it's great to determine scent preference. I'm not a fan of geranium, although it's great for the skin, and wasn't keen on the overall scent of this mist.

*Face Oil: This facial oil is packed with exceptional oils, however, I found the essential oil blend a bit strong. I think it's the vetiver that just takes over and lingers. In the warmer months, it worked amazingly well as a base for my makeup. It provided enough moisture, but was light enough to keep me from feeling or getting greasy during the day. It balanced my skin perfectly. Now that it's colder, this doesn't cut it for my dry skin. I will definitely consider purchasing a full size next summer and recommend giving it a go if you live somewhere warm or have oily skin.

*Cocoa Lip Balm: Cocoa butter based lip balms are some of my absolutely faves, they tend to work so well for my lips and this is no exception. It's rich, moisturizing, delicious, and amazing. My only issue is that cocoa butter tends to melt and solidify with temperature changes (obviously), making the texture a bit rough. Luckily, it hasn't happened with this one yet. This is probably one of my favourite lip balms to date.

*Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream in Grapefruit (mind blown!): I saved the best for last! Spoiler alert, the full size (pictured on the left) was purchased with my own money from Glam Goes Green. Tara sent me a surprise package containing a sample (pictured on the right) of this deodorant. The fresh grapefruit scent is uplifting and instantly intoxicated my nasal passage. For all of you baking soda sensitive people out there, this is the only deodorant you will ever need! It keeps me stink free all damn day, without irritating my pits, AND I can safely perform spa services without worrying about stinking. I'm in love and highly, highly recommend giving it a try! Brand Focus: Me & The Girls (+Giveaway! - CLOSED)

In January of this year, I created a wish list. On that wish list was the Me & The Girls Moon Serum. I love the little wooden spoon that comes with both the full sizes (and this travel set) of the foot and body scrub. It's so handy for scooping out product. This foot scrub smells refreshingly of mint and really helps to exfoliate, moisturize, cool, and soothe my feet. I've been enjoying using this scrub, as you can see above, both after exfoliating with a paddle and to maintain the softness between my at home pedi treatments.

The body and foot scrub look and feel practically the same, they just smell differently. It's exfoliating, without being too aggressive, and leaves my skin super soft. I've used it on my body but much prefer using it on my hands. I'm not a huge fan of the lemony scent though, that's just preference, and wish they had more options.

Again, the minty scent is just so refreshing and feels so cooling on my feet. This balm textured creme is lovely to use after exfoliating and melts right into the skin like buttah. Throw on a pair of socks and you got yourself a moisturizing foot treatment. Remove the socks, and you got the softest feet ever!

Mentha Revive Lip Moisturizer Lipstick Topper and Base:

I was a little skeptical about this being a lipstick "topper and base" but have been impressed! It works great as just a good ol' lip balm as well, but it really does create a lovely base for lipstick. Over lipstick, it leaves a gorgeous glossy finish that I especially love with matte shades. The peppermint in this is slightly plumping and freshens my breath instantly. I also love how smooth the formula is.

This is product that I've heard most about, from their line. Seeing as the sample is the size of a lip balm, I haven't tried using it to cleanse my skin and, because it contains coconut oil, I haven't used it as an all over primer or moisturizer. My favourite way to use this is after my makeup is already on, I just dab it on any dry patches and find it works well to smooth them out.

Ahhh, the product that I most wanted to try. Ladies and gents, this serum does not disappoint! It only takes a couple of drops to completely moisturize the skin. It sinks in beautifully, has virtually no scent, and works as a primer for makeup or as an overnight treatment. It contains absolutely no coconut oil (score!) and does include tamanu oil (double score!). I'm in loveeee!

I'll have to be honest here, I haven't even tried this yet. It does contain coconut oil, therefore it's unlikely that I'll actually use it on my face. I'll probably just end up using it on my feet, elbows, and knees.

Last but not least, the travel bag. It's so effen adorable! It feels like linen or burlap, maybe burlap, and works well to pack up the travel set or makeup brushes or makeup or whatever really. They should really consider selling this separately.

I'm really loving this entire kit, but have to say that the stand out products (for me) are definitely the serum, lipstick topper and base, and travel bag. I love the concept and woman behind the brand, the clean and beautiful ingredients, and overall packaging of Me & The Girls products. Ladybug Jane Lip Balm in Sweet Strawberry Review

Ladybug Jane is a company I discovered when I was shopping at Nature's Emporium. Jane, creator and owner, was actually doing demos and drew me in immediately. She drew in the right person because I'm a total lip balm junkie!

                                                           Ladybug Jane was created by Jane May Graves (scientist, actress, and model) and the character came from a dream that she had when her mom was diagnosed with stage 4 Cancer. This diagnosis led her on a mission to discover that there are an array of toxic chemicals in personal care products and cosmetics. With her little girl love of Lip Smackers (don't act like you didn't love em!), she set out to find a natural and vegan alternative. Since she couldn't find one, she created one! NOM, NOM, NOM I WANT TO EAT IT!!! It legit smells like sweet strawberries and I can't get enough of it. The packaging is super cute; the different colours, polka dots, lady bug character, etc. It's definitely packaged more towards children and teens but, that shouldn't stop you from picking one up and licking your lips every time you wear it. This lip balm is clear and leaves a beautiful sheen on the lips, it's super moisturizing and I love that the texture hasn't changed. I find with beeswax or cocoa butter lip balms, extremes in temperatures impact the texture of it. Anyone else experience that? This one just remains super creamy so far. Now, some people may have a problem with the natural flavour used in this product and to that I say, live a little! Just joking..kinda. I was concerned too until Jane informed me that it's the same flavouring that's used in candy. I'm still a bit on the fence BUTTTTT, all of the other ingredients are spectacular. My childhood memories of lip balm revolve around Lip Smackers and with flavours like Sweet Strawberry, Vanilla Cupcake, Rich Chocolate, and Bursting Berry, this is wonderful natural alternative. I would highly recommend and totally repurchase!

Simply Natural Balm in Chamilla Review

Marcella, from Naturally Marcy, just knows me so well! She sent me another lip balm in our swap! I actually expressed interest in this balm, and she so kindly picked it up for me based on that. Not to ruin the review or anything, but it's not my favourite.

Description: Chamomile oil is known for its soothing property, add some vanilla~ and you have chamilla! Slide this balm on and smile!

The Good:

• simple & fantastic ingredients
• fairly inexpensive
• applies smoothly
• easy to find (in my bag lol)
• affordable

The Bad:

• scent is too strong
• not hydrating enough

Verdict: I'm not a huge fan of this balm because the smell is too strongly of chamomile and it isn't very hydrating. It applies really nicely, but my lips feel dry after several minutes and with continued use. I was expecting a light chamomile and vanilla scent, disappointing for sure. Silver lining? It's so easy to find because of the yellow label.  I will not be purchasing once I use it up.

Badger Cocoa Butter Lip Balm in Mocha Cocoa Review

The wonderful Marcella, from Naturally Marcy, sent me this lip balm in our swap and I cannot put it down! I see badger products in most health food stores, and in blogs, but never really thought to try anything from them. I am so happy that she sent me this to try because I think it's going to be a must have from now on.

The Good:

• larger than most lip balms
• incredibly hydrating
• smooth application
• amazing ingredients
• great value for price

The Bad:

• scent/flavour

Verdict: I  LOVE this lip balm! It's larger than a traditional balm both in weight and width (see below) which makes application smooth and easy. It's incredibly hydrating, beats out the Antipodes Lime Leaf and Cocoa Butter lip balm hands down. The weather has been darn cold in Canada and it's the only balm that I've been reaching for. The only down side, is the scent. While I'm starting to like it more than when I originally smelled it, I can see myself getting sick of it eventually. Chocolate and coffee scented anything,especially lip balms, don't tend to tickle my fancy as much as mint and peppermint do. Luckily, Marcella sent me the Mint one too! It smells a little like chocolate as well, thanks to the wonderful cocoa butter, but the mint is prominent. I will definitely purchase when I use these up. Go pick one up!

Simply Natural Chamilla Lip Balm: This smells and feels absolutely divine thus far! I only applied it once, but am loving it.

Badger Cocoa Butter Lip Balm in Mocha Cocoa: I'm not a coffee drinker and don't enjoy the smell of coffee/mocha or anything BUT this balm has grown on me.  I went from thinking "ew, what the heck did she send me!?" to "can't.live.without.this". Superb lip balm!

Bubs & Scrubs Virgin Coconut - Coconut Milk Soap: This sounds like it's going to be delicious. I can't smell it through the packaging but I will definitely do a review when I get around to using it.

Youngblood Pressed Shadow in Zen: This shadow is a deep forest green with gold flecks, it's beautiful.

Alima Pure Shimmer Blush Sample in Freja: It's a beautiful neutral pink with lots of shimmer. I look forward to trying it.

Alima Pure Bronzer Sample in Belize: This bronzer is a beautiful medium high shimmer bronzer. It's very pretty and I think it would be best used on the decollete area because of how shimmery it is.
