I recently posted a couple of pictures on
Twitter showing a shadow of the day and the entire look of the day, I guess it should be face of the day since I only showed my face right? Just started playing more with makeup and I'm
still working on finding good lighting in my house to take pictures. A million windows and I still struggle. Anyway, thought I'd put up a more in-depth post with better pictures for those of you who aren't on Twitter. A little disclaimer before you continue reading. I am not a makeup artist and until late last year, never really played much with makeup beyond the basics. My brows desperately need to get done and I fully realize that one is darker than the other, luckily, they're getting done today lol. You may now proceed...
Here are the products that I used, you can pretty much guess where I used each one :P/
MarieNatie was kind enough to send me these shadows to try out. This is the very first time that I'm wearing them and must say that I'm impressed. I will do a full review of them at some point. I used C'est bon all over the lid and in the crease, then used Emerald as a liner on the top and bottom lash line. I don't often wear liner but I added Physicians Formula dark brown liner to the bottom lash line, which seems to have come off in the pictures already, then coated my lashes with some mascara. The whole look, especially Emerald, really makes my eyes pop!

TA-DA, the complete look! |
Hope you guys enjoyed, let me know if you'd like me to do more of these posts. Maybe the more I do the better I'll get!
xo!
*MarieNatie sent me the gloss & shadows. I am in no way being compensated for using or reviewing them. All opinions are my own.
Oh~ I know I already said it, but I love the color of that eyeshadow~ my favourite colour~ and it looks so gorgeous on you! You got beautiful eyes >.< wish I was able to wear that color on my eyes too =( I would really love to read more post of this kind in the future ^.^
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet to me, thank you! Why can't you wear it on your eyes?!
DeleteI never realized just how hard it is to take FOTD photos until I tried it myself. Will try again eventually, but the first attempt was a complete fail, lol. I think you did great! Emerald looks gorgeous:)
ReplyDeleteTell me about it! Thank goodness someone else feels the same way, some girls make it look so effortless lol. I hope you do some soon, you have some fab makeup! And thank you :)
DeleteI love your photos, so many bloggers pull serious model faces and it nice to see you having some fun :)
ReplyDeleteaw thank you for the sweet comment. It's awkward enough taking a picture by yourself let alone striking model faces lol. xo!
DeleteHi Nicole, that eyeshadow is just gorgeous! Love the colour and it suits you so much. I'm not sure if it would suit me though as the colour looks too cool for my skintone.
ReplyDeletePS: Doing FOTDs is not easy, no matter how much practice you have! For each of my FOTD shots I take maybe 30 unusable shots! :)
Hi Lilit! Thank you so much for the compliment and checking out my blog. The shade is a little more on the cooler side but I think that the lighting is washing it out as well. I'll be doing some swatches in the next couple of weeks because my FOTD isn't doing it justice.
Deletehaha that's comforting to know! 30 only thought? I think I had a million :P
Such a gorgeous look! That blush is so beautiful and absolutely perfect on you! I might just have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, you're so sweet! The All Natural Face cream blushes are beautiful, you must check them out. xo
